Abidjan, le 22 juillet 2025 \u2013 L’Unit\u00e9 de Coordination de l’Abidjan Legacy Program (ALP) et l’ONG Agir pour l’Environnement dans l’Industrie Extractive (AEIE) ont proc\u00e9d\u00e9, le mardi 22 juillet 2025 au si\u00e8ge de ALP, \u00e0 la signature d’une convention de partenariat visant \u00e0 renforcer la lutte contre l’orpaillage ill\u00e9gal, un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne qui menace les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes et les communaut\u00e9s locales \u00e0 travers la C\u00f4te d’Ivoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La convention a \u00e9t\u00e9 sign\u00e9e par Abou Bamba, coordonnateur de l’Unit\u00e9 de Coordination de l’ALP et Raymond Bohoussou Kouakou, pr\u00e9sident de l’ONG AEIE. Il va s’agir pour les deux entit\u00e9s de d\u00e9velopper des projets pilotes, mobiliser des ressources et promouvoir des actions inclusives \u00e0 fort impact environnemental, \u00e9conomique et social, notamment dans les zones affect\u00e9es par l’orpaillage et la d\u00e9gradation des terres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette convention repose sur sept axes fondamentaux, \u00e0 savoir : la cartographie et la restauration des terres d\u00e9grad\u00e9es ; l’\u00e9ducation environnementale, en particulier aupr\u00e8s des jeunes et des femmes ; le d\u00e9veloppement de projets pilotes \u00e0 fort impact territorial ; la mobilisation de ressources pour une mise \u00e0 l’\u00e9chelle nationale ; le plaidoyer pour des politiques publiques efficaces ; l’inclusion sociale ; et la veille strat\u00e9gique ainsi que l’innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le gouvernement ivoirien a d\u00e9j\u00e0 pris des mesures fermes pour combattre ce fl\u00e9au, dont l’adoption du nouveau Code minier en 2014, plusieurs op\u00e9rations de d\u00e9mant\u00e8lement et la cr\u00e9ation d’un service pr\u00e9sidentiel d\u00e9di\u00e9. Toutefois, comme l’a soulign\u00e9 Abou Bamba, \u00ab ces efforts doivent \u00eatre renforc\u00e9s par des approches int\u00e9gr\u00e9es et innovantes qui combinent la lutte contre l’orpaillage, la pr\u00e9vention, les alternatives \u00e9conomiques et la restauration des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le coordonnateur de l’Unit\u00e9 de Coordination de l’ALP a indiqu\u00e9 que cette convention repr\u00e9sente une alliance strat\u00e9gique pour \u00ab la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 environnementale, \u00e9conomique et sociale \u00bb de la C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. Il a r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 l’ambition du programme pr\u00e9sidentiel Abidjan Legacy Program de restaurer les terres, renforcer les communaut\u00e9s et b\u00e2tir une \u00e9conomie verte, inclusive, tourn\u00e9e vers l’avenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour sa part, Raymond Bohoussou Kouakou a insist\u00e9 sur l’importance de cette collaboration. \u00ab Cette rencontre marque un tournant dans la lutte contre l’orpaillage ill\u00e9gal, un fl\u00e9au national, dont l’ampleur et les cons\u00e9quences n’\u00e9pargnent plus aucun territoire de notre pays \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notons qu’en 2022, plus de 241 sites d’orpaillage ill\u00e9gal, mobilisant 23 400 personnes, ont d\u00e9truit les terres, for\u00eats et communaut\u00e9s \u00e0 travers les 31 r\u00e9gions de la C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, avec des cons\u00e9quences environnementales, sanitaires, \u00e9conomiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
